I heard foreigners became to like hot spring(Onsen) which strangers take a bath together. They should be open-minded if foreigners first try Onsen, and I know they need brave. Onsen is usually in the countryside, so I recommend Sento as well. I think it is easier to take a bath because Snto is in cities. Sento is also Japanese public bath, even though it is not natural water different from Onsen. But it costs only 200 to 300 yen. It is famous that many Sento have a picture of the sea and Mt. Fuji on the wall, and it might be great to feel Japan. In Japan, there are only 3 people who are professional of painting on the wall of Sento. It was first painted in 1912. The reason of Mt. Fuji is, it was regarded as sacred mountain. Taking bath means of purification of mind not only cleaning the body dirt, so it was thought Mt. Fuji was suite to be painted. The number of Sento is decreasing gradually, so why don’t you experience the culture?
