One young man,Yuya Hasegawa,started the shop in Aoyama. That shop is shoeshine shop. In Japan,shoeshine is not so popular. When I went to abroad,I was surprised that there were some shoeshine shops in the street. I have never seen them in Japan. The reason is the business in the public road is illegal in Japan. Also I was surprised that there were some shoeshine shops in airport when I went to the airport first time. First,Yuya did not want to be shoeshine specialist. He started his job because of poverty. A big earthquake occurred this March,and we need to save electric power in this year. Probably you will try not to use air conditioner so much. However,Tokyo is hot city,so it’s hard to continue. Many people think about how to be cool in hot day. I introduce one interesting way. Do you know “Cool Vegetable”? It means vegetables that have power of dropping people’s temperature. For example,Cool Vegetable means eggplant,tomatoes,cucumber and so on. These vegetable include water and potassium. These two ingredients reduce people’s temperature. Pico is a Japanese singer who can sing with both woman voice and man voice. He contributed his song to Nico-nico animation at first. The song came up as rare singer. He became major by his first single “Story”. When I listened to his song at first,I was surprised that his voice was like a natural woman’s voice. And he also looks like a woman. He made original picture writing “(ヒ゜ω゜コ). It stands for his name. He uses it when he expresses his own. He has unique world view and he fascinates many people. I want to notice his activity in future.
What do you image when you hear “unicycle”? A circus? A street performance? Actually unicycling is a magnificent sport,and All Japan Unicycle Competition and World Unicycle Competition are held every year. There are various competition such as marathon and race,but today I’ll introduce “unicycle dancing (performance)”! The main competitions are held by Japan Unicycle Assosiation,and the association defines the performance “an indoor sport expressing originality and artistry with music”. In short,it’s like “a figure skating on the floor”! The events are divided for three:1)group,2)pair,and 3)solo. In the competition,both of artistry and techniques are evaluated. All unicycle performances make impression,and definitely you will be impressed the fascination of unicycle dancing deeply. This year,All Japan Unicycle Competition will be hold in July 17th. I really recommend you to see live unicycle dancing!

“Captain EO” is the one of attractions of Disney theme parks. It is a 3D movie starring Michael Jackson. The amazing things about “Captain EO” are that it is directed by Francis Coppola who is famous as “Apocalypse Now” and George Lucas who is famous as “Star Wars” series is the executive producer.
It was started at Disney theme parks from 1986 to 1990s. But “Captain EO” came back again in 2010 followed the death of Michael Jackson. Moreover it was announced to be screened as a regular attraction from May,6,2011.
“Captain EO” is my favorite attraction of Tokyo Disney Land. Anyway,Michael Jackson is really cool! You should to go and see it!
A new convenience store,“Family Mart in Sangenjaya” has opened in May 31st! This store is located in the middle of the way from Sangenjaya Station to Showa Women’s University. I went to the store last Thursday,it was so crowded. At that time the store was holding an open sale,and I bought a sweet bun and dango. There are some tables and chairs outside of the store,so it’s very convenient when you buy oden or “fami-chiki (Family Mart chicken)”. I’m sure Showa students will buy a lot of stuff there.
Mickey’s Philharmagic opened at January 24,2011. This attraction is a magical orchestra concert conducted by Mickey Mouse. “Philharmagic” is a word coined from the combination of the words “philharmonic” and “magic.” A lot of music which are typical of Disney animations are played,and many characters appear at the orchestra. There are various effects such as 3-D animation and smell. Moreover you can see the screen and enjoy these effects even if you sit a back seat or an aisle seat. You can enjoy the wonderful world of Disney with exciting 3-D animation and fantastic music! If you go to see the concert,you must be captivated by this attraction! -Yurika
