As one of Japanese winter traditions, Hakone Ekiden gets attention every year. Hakone Ekiden is long distance road relay by 20 of Japanese college students held on every January 2nd to 3rd. Each runner runs about 20km, and Tasuki is handed from one runner to the next runner. Hakone Ekiden is one of the most famous relays in Japan. The reason is because distances or elevations are different depends on the intervals. It needs elaborated strategies, so it makes the relays interesting and exciting. In this year, Toyo University won first place. I hope many runners will become professional runner who leads Japan.
