Yushima Tenman-gu

A few days ago, I went to the “Yushima Tenman-gū Shrine (湯島天満宮)” with my friend. It was the second time to visit there.

When I was 18 years old, I went there for the first time to pray for my entrance examination. This shrine enshrines “Sugawara no Mishizane” who is known as the god of learning. Every year a lot of students preparing for exams come and pray. Some of them dedicate “ema.”

This shrine was built in 458. It is located in Bunkyo Ward, not far from the University of Tokyo. You can see beautiful gardens there. Around there, you can enjoy eating or shopping. If you have an opportunity to go near there, please find it.
