Pierre Herme is a pastry chef and chocolatier in France. He began his career at the age of 14 as apprentice in Paris with the acclaimed pastry chef Gaston Lenotre. At the age of 24, he became a pastry chef at the fine food merchant Fauchon. In 1998, he started his own brand name “Pierre Herme Paris” with a pastry shop in Tokyo’s New Otani Hotel. Thereafter, he expanded his shop around the world.
He is most famous for his macarons, which have many kinds of unusual flavor combinations. I got them last summer at the Aoyama branch. They were very tasty and the best macaron I have had ever. You must try them! I’m sure you’ll like them.
